Backwards and Upside Down

People *should* be considered healthy until proven sick.

New pharmaceuticals *should* be considered dangerous until proven safe.

Old pharmaceuticals *should* be given the benefit of the doubt, especially in an emergency.

The president of the United States , ironically elected on a “unity” platform, should not be pitting one group of US citizens against another.

Everything is all backwards and upside down, and if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times:

Something. Is. Not. Right.

You don’t have to be a doctor to say that, or a scientist, or an epidemiologist, or a virologist.

You. Yes, you.

With your God-given intellect and your God-guided discernment are able to see that right now, what’s up is called down, down is called up, wrong is called right, and right is called wrong.

The deceiver, the master of lies, is at work in the world and in the Church.

What do we do about it?

First, get yourself into a place of spiritual health. Confession, Communion, Scripture, Rosary. Spend quiet time in discernment.

Once you do that: it’s time to speak truth into the world.

One deep breath at a time, one prayer at a time, one discussion at a time, one protest, one city council meeting, one school board meeting, one letter to a bishop…

It all matters. It all counts. Don’t let the devil whisper you out of your convictions because “you’ll never get it right, so why bother trying.”

LIES. Get thee behind me, satan.

The good you do, the bravery you espouse, the little, everyday attestations to truth and quiet rejections of lies, the sacrifices you make: they all count. They all build the kingdom of God.

Listen for the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and then MOVE as only the Breath of Life can move you.
